The Student Ministry team here at West Salem Baptist exists to help and assist the parents in the discipleship of their youth aged children. We have a leadership team consisting of pastors, adult leaders and student leaders. Also aiding in the discipleship process is the implementation of a Sunday School curriculum that revolves around the gospel of Christ and His glory. This curriculum is designed to lead to the student’s growth in Christ, teach the students to take ownership of their faith, and to be involved in serving the Lord by serving His body.

 Annual   Events

Spring/Wknd Event

Renown is a conference in the spring for students in grades 6 th – 12 th . Renown is really more than just a conference, it is a reordering of our lives around the fame and glory of God and the cross of Christ. It is a call to be obsessed with the great name of Jesus and to live for His renown on this earth. It is a call to stop living for self but to find ourselves in His glorious and beautiful story.
Renown is typically held in April for a weekend.  Students and leaders will spend the weekend in groups at the homes of members of the church. This is a great time of getting to know Christ and bond with other youth.

 Lift Camp

Summer/One  Week

Lift Camp is a week long summer trip to Pigeon Forge.   Students are taught one of the Five Sola’s (Salvation is by Faith alone, in Christ alone, by Grace alone, to the glory of God alone as revealed in the authority of Scripture alone) each year so that after progressing through their years in the group they will have had exposure to all five. The students have  morning and evening study sessions each day and in between, enjoy time at Dollywood, hiking, visiting Gatlinburg and just hanging out together.

Fall/Wknd Event

Manhood/Womanhood weekend is scheduled in the fall and centers upon our identity in Christ. The guys usually go camping/hiking overnight and the girls usually stay at someone’s home and do activities together. The teaching during this weekend centers upon our identity in Christ and our biblical roles as men and women.
